Even drones can fly away. The queen is their slave.

Best movie ever. Even though they cucked the ending versus the book. But hell, that's hollywood. The woman had to win somehow. Couldn't have a man starting his new life with the boys like in Chuck's original piece.

Yea...drones can't even feed themselves and will starve without the female worker. They are driven from their own hives once they are no longer needed.

The female worker is the real boss. Only she calls the shots ultimately. Female workers kill old failing queens. They know how to rear a new queen from a new diploid egg. But the only way to get that diploid egg is from a queen and a drone. The hive is like one superorganism rather than a society of independent individuals.

I remember reading how in a worker bee colony, only a small percentage of the workers are actually the productive ones...a large minority are lazy lol.
