Spontaneous Weekend Trip

I decided Friday morning to get out of town this weekend and hike.

I pricelined a cheap hotel, packed my camera, stocked up on hiking food/water, and drove seven hours up to hike Angel's Landing.

High of 65 and plenty of sun. Spent two hours at the top enjoying the view and taking a nap. I highly recommend Zion National Park.

Love the personal freedom to make these spontaneous weekend trips.

Amazing view. Reminded me of what I heard archaeologist Randall Carlson say on Rogan's podcast - that the huge valley below is likely to be an ancient river bed, just to imagine the scale.

I live in central UT and I love it here. I do amazing redrock hikes all the time, since I'm literally surrounded by it all. Life is inexpensive and the setting is perfect for going my own way. I'm loving every minute of it.
