So before i get into this post, i just want to make note that i appreciate my mom and am thankful for everything that shes done and given me ib my life. With that said, i was reminded of the general AWALT rule and that none of them are excluded.

I go to the gym 5 days a week at 5 am monday through Friday. I try to run also at least 4 days a week in the evenings or morning on the weekends. Today was an awesome day for me to end the week. I hit a personal record of 225lbs squat and 135lb over head press. For more veteran lifters these may not seem like major feats as someone whos skinny fat I'm stronger than I've ever been at 26 even when i played varsity tennis in high school i wasn't lifting this much.

I decided to share my achievement with my mom. Just a general conversation thing. Instead of being congratulatory she instead proceeds to lecture me about how i shouldn't lift so much because if i stop ill just have flab and that i should just run because it's better for you. I just said ok and changed the topic. What's funny is she loves guys like the actor Chris Hemsworth who plays thor but i guess she doesn't realize that he can't get a body like that without lifting.

As I walked away, i had a bit of a chuckle because this advice is coming from a woman who is obese. She can't stick to a diet or even a steady exercise routine involving the treadmill. She always complains about being fat and unhealthy and tries to blame my dad for her lack of discipline with a diet because he's also a big junk food eater.

Like many other women she tried to discourage me with her crabs in a bucket mentality. Hell I can see the bitterness in girls especially overweight ones when you talk about exercise and fitness. They get mad at you from their own insecurities. You remind them of their failures to lose weight and lack of discipline. Hell even advice they give is terrible.

They all follow fad diets. Bullshit about watching carbs, "cleanses", and other bullshit. Stick to fitness talk with your guy friends or other men. Women will just turn the conversation sour if you remind them of their fitness failure. However if you like to trigger them for fun, have at it boys! Just wanted to share a thought and observation with you guys.
