No, I'm not talking about /r/IamVerySmart neither am I talking about "Heh my IQ = X" type of smart. We all know these types and so there's a certain connotation attached to self-analysis of one's own intelligence, best left as a solo sport, demonstrated not discussed.

I do however find myself amongst like-minded people here, and I daresay even friends. I know a lot of you are smarter than I am. Dog smart. I'm saying intelligence can be the bane of your existence.

Cows chew the cud. Remember that saying "Calm as a Hindu cow" (Fight club reference) referring to their docile nature? Intelligence, while it's nice to have, isn't for free.

Constant stress is what you'll be facing, and a lifetime of it. As you form opinions and ideas of what's going on around you and try to make sense of the world. All at a cost.

The general sheep in their pens are content. Ignorance is bliss. If you've come this far as to find yourself on this sub, you're most likely not ignorant and sure as hell aren't living in bliss.

Life can be torturous -> Just apply intelligence.

Over-analysis, cross analysis, reverse analysis all lovely little party tricks, all get you to the bottom of almost everything that comes your way. But it's not for free.

Knowing how people really are. What constitutes humanity, how fragile morality really is. If you're willing to scrap away preconceived notions about what you were taught often from a young age and instead apply true and genuine philosophy from observation you'll find yourself in a partially terrifying space.

While others are glued to their phones, while the zombie herd moves forward in their droves, there's you.

This weight is a lot to bare. A fuck ton to carry. So give yourself the odd pat on the back for fuck sakes, and live a little and take time out to chill.
