I think this kind of scenario plays out a lot more than people are willing to admit.

I know, no person is entitled to anyone, but what I have learned time and time again is that most women are opportunistic to the bone. An opportunist is a person who postpones decisions to the very last moment to optimally benefit from the decision. Opportunists often have to be dishonest to extend the deadline on a decision. It is a morally questionable practice, especially in relationships in which I think honesty is the number one priority.

So my similar scenario played out like this: I had been dating this girl for about 6 months. Everything was great. She was pulling all the right strings to make me fall in love with her. So much so that I proposed to her and she said yes. Just a month or so later, I had to find out through the phone that my fiancee had already moved in with her new bf. Before that time I already a suspicion something was up, because a few weeks before me finding out, she said she wanted a week of no contact to "think" about the future. I immediately told her I would not trust her as much after that anymore and it would really damage my feelings. She actually got angry at me for feeling that way. How can you be engaged and not be worried when she just wants to dissappear for a week?

Soon after finding out what she had done, she told me I was just one of three guys in contention. None of them knew. I was the one who basically forced her hand into a premature decision (in her eyes; It was not even the proposal that did it! It was me telling her I no longer trusted her lol). Just imagine the hamstering going on justifying being a total piece of shit to three guys. Imagine the guy she ended up with. He was fine with her morals, just because he got the "prize". Sickening.

Anyways, the whole ordeal mentally broke me. I was depressed for half a year before feeling better. During all this time her best friends (both 7/10 females) were trying to get with me, telling me she did not mean it like that and I should not be so harsh on her. Through them I found out she got married just a few weeks after moving in with the guy. Just 10 months later she gave birth to a child. I cut these "friends" off obviously, after fucking the skinnier one of them. Fucking hamsters.

After about a year she contacted me telling me (!) we could be "friends" if I were to get married, because her husband was very jealous. Oh wow, should I be grateful for this amazing opportunity? And I only have to get MARRIED to be allowed this? Wow! How very generous... I told her I had nothing to gain from friendship with her, I told her I would certainly never get married. Ever. Then told her to leave me alone. She said she would do that, but also said she did not want me to talk to both her friends. (She was obviously jealous herself). Anyways...

Now it is almost 12 years later. She is divorced. She still lives in the same shitty apartment, but with her kid. No job. Best of all; she has become a land whale of epic proportions.

In hindsight I am very happy to have dodged that cannonball. So much so that just last year I wrote her a long email telling her I am actually very grateful for what she had done to me. I told her it had opened my eyes to the evil ways of women. I attached a photo of my decent sized house with the garden pool visible in the background. I have a great view on the crappy city she lives in. Green all around.

I hope there is a special place in hell for these hamsters.

Sadly, it took another major heartbreak for it to sink in: The right woman doesn't exist. Like Santa Claus, it's just a myth to get us to behave.
