I think the girl is indeed insufferable in her demeanour, the entitlement also a put off but the guy doesn't have a better argument either, he just more relaxed than her.

Her question didn't get answered but he projected the question to her personal experience that doesn't really related to the question, he can't answer her yes and no question, he just maintained the status quo without answering the legitimate question. She said that hate speech increases violence and kind of bullying to targeted people, she wants to know what is the legitimate bar of saying that a speech is okay and not okay, does it need to take a victim until some speech consider to be a hate speech? how about antisemitism and harmful stereotype? he doesn't answer any of that but saying that "you can say anything to me and I'll survive" while the point is there are people that don't survive even if they don't take it to their heart. He said the line is as long as it doesn't incite violence and her point is discrimination. His point goes to it's okay to sacrifice those people because we have our freedom to say anything, it's the price.

She is talking about defamation, discrimination and harmful propaganda [albeit uneloquently] and he is talking about harmless criticism.

I don't like the word hate speech because the pro and contra talk about different things, we should go back to defamation and libel. "Hate speech" is kind of regulated by defamation, racism, anti-discrimination law.
