Excellent reasoning, I support this, because then we can remove the taxes on being male:

All weight training equipment
Paying more for car insurance
Paying for women
Paying for child support (we're liable for a child financially, a woman never is)
Razors, shaving products, hair stuff
Having a nice car because otherwise we're seen as deadbeat
Having a nice house, same reason
Condoms (until such time as women prove reliable with contraception, ie never)
Gym membership (women don't do anything useful in the gym, so gym membership is really a tax on men)
Protein powder

Let them have their tax free tampons, I'll take this deal in the name of gender equality. I'm sure Cristina Garcia is campaigning as hard for us as she is for women, and it's not just a publicity exercise.

Sounds like one of those showboat bills that doesn't have a snowball's chance of actually passing and becoming enacted into the tax code. The legislator in question can show their constituency that they fought "the good fight" and get their approval even though they effectively only wasted the legislature's time.

Here's an idea: Take a picture of a sewage treatment plant's settling basins with 10,000,000 plastic tampon applicators floating on top, and use that as a basis for proposing tampons be taxed at DOUBLE the normal sales tax rate. This will set the Feminist and Environmentalist factions at odds with some cognitive dissonance.

California is drowning in unfunded liabilities specifically pensions. California promissed all of its teachers firefighters and cops very good retirement benefits 30 years ago. Now the public servants are getting old and ready to cash in on the promises made. Problem is California can't foot the bill.

Alcohol is taxed because it is intoxicating. However, it takes more of it to get a man intoxicated than a woman, so there should be less duty on alcohol when consumed by a man than by a woman.

Incidentally, tampons are not a necessity. See what did women do before tampons were invented
