It seems most professional jobs these days, especially office based jobs are majority female. It's not unusual to see large offices where there isn't a single male employee to be seen.

This begs the question, or men simply not applying for this type of office based work, like HR or Marketing for instance, or are companies actively favouring women over men for these jobs?

It seems to me the only type of work where men are favoured is manual work like working in a warehouse or construction, and even in those types of jobs it's very common for the boss to be a woman overseeing men doing menial labour.

On building sites it's not unusual these days for the Project Manager or Construction Manager to be a woman who has never done any physical labour in her life nor knows the first thing about it.
