INTRODUCTION

While I am a relative newb to TRP, I have been meditating for decades so after seeing many comments asking "How do I meditate?", I figured I would at least chime in with the basics.

BODY

Meditation (to me), is the practice of quieting the "chatter" of the ego. The ego is that voice in your head that decides, judges, feels butthurt, gets scared, has bitchy opinions, and basically is concerned with all the crappy stuff that happens in your head without your control. Meditation provides you with a way to disconnect from all of that and see what is truly happening around you. It is a way to step back and get a much broader picture. As an example: it's always easy to watch two friends arguing and see what is wrong with each of them and what they should do, right? When you are one of them, it's not so easy, is it?

Meditation allows you to step away and be that outside observer of your own life.

HOW TO DO IT

(This is what has worked for me. Other methods may work for you so don't bother commenting about how I'm full of shit and XXXX is the right way to do it.)

Sit up with your back straight. I can't do a lotus position so I put my feet together and put a pillow behind my lower back. I found that laying down didn't work as I would fall asleep within 20 minutes.

Turn off the lights and close the doors and windows if there's a lot of noise. I often wear headphones and play files like this, or this. There are hundreds of these on YT and elsewhere. Look around and find some you like. They make it easy to go deep without distraction.

As you sit there, start by concentrating on your breathing...slowly, smoothly, in and out. Think of the life forces energizing your body from each breath. Good comes in, bad goes out. What you need comes in, what you don't goes out. It's the natural order of our world.

As you sit, a million thoughts will come streaming through your head. What you have to do tomorrow. What you read on TRP today. What yourfriend said about XYZ. All sorts of things. Do not try and fight them. It won't work. Let them all flow through your head. It may go on for an hour. Maybe only 20 minutes. As you become more experienced with your meditation, it will take less and less time to find "the zone".

After awhile, you will notice that you have been following one train of thought, like a little scene or story in your head. At that point, you should be able to start noticing that that little story is playing out in a huge area. It is very hard to describe without sounding all new-agey. It may feel like nowhere, or everywhere. It is both.

Once you notice the "where" that the trifling thoughts of your life are swimming around in, you can begin to leave them behind and explore that vast place. It is there and then that you can plant the seeds of your future. It is there that whatever gets planted, sprouts. Be careful what you plant there. An example: you must use emotional images as your seeds. Intellectual ideas have no real trans-formative power. You must be specific and careful in your "wants". If you "want" money, and think of how much you want more money, you will manifest exactly that. You will want more money. Done. What you actually "want" is the feeling of happiness, success, and safety, that a lot of money and it's changes, will bring you. Create sensations in your mind as though you already have that money and the things that you think you will be happier with. Feel that happiness. Smell the new car. Drive it. Park it. Own it. Fill it with gas. Make experiencing it real. Don't "want" it. Have it. If it's a career change, create the reality of it in your mind. Feel that leather chair and your feet up on your new desk in the corner office. Look out the windows at the lake below. Smell the flowers your secretary brought in. Get it? This point is critical!

When you get in the zone, you must plant the realities you want. Feel them. Attach strong emotional sensations to them. See them...in detail.

It may take you two weeks of meditating every day to get to this point. It may take you six months. Either way, it is more than worth the effort. Once you have "found" that place, you will always seek to return to it and plant your seeds.

Problems? Go meditate and find that place.

GF chewing a hole through your little beta heart? Go find that place, chill out, then go lift.

It;s not easy making it an every day thing but mark my words...WHEN YOU DO IT EVERY FUCKING DAY...MAGIC STARTS TO HAPPEN IN YOUR LIFE.

CONCLUSION and TL;DR

If you can learn how to meditate and practice it daily, you're will improve in ways you never imagined. Promise.
