This is a follow-up to my previous post on this topic.

Wikipedia now has a page on MGTOW here:

I am still not satisfied with the fact that the page titled "MGTOW" is still locked, but I am hoping they will help me out with that. The abbreviation "MGTOW" is the much more commonly used term, rather than the full phrase, and should be the primary page.

I will reiterate a few important points:

Before you jump in and start making edits willy-nilly, take the time to familiarize yourself with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, otherwise your edits may be reverted, or you may be banned. In particular:
If your want to contribute, here are some suggestions on the most important issues in the article that still need work:

  1. Adding citations to the existing contents. Ideally, every statement should have a cited reference. An uncited statement may be challenged and deleted.
  2. Expanding the section titled "Reasons why men go their own way" with new contents (again, with citations!). You could insert (and rephrase) some of the contents from the men's rights page.
  3. You could insert contents from the herbivore men references, which has a larger amount of reliable sources, into the article and rephrase it to be about MGTOW.

Unfortunately, self-published blogs and other primary sources are in many cases not notable enough to be used as a reference according to Wikipedia's standards. Therefore, I suggest buying (or downloading) "Men On Strike" by Helen Smith, which has loads of good contents on just about every page which should be incorporated into the article (quoting the page number(s)).

Do not remove mentions of the "marriage strike". I know MGTOW is not entirely coterminous with the marriage strike, but there are a lot more references about the marriage strike phenomenon one can use but many of these references do not mention the term "MGTOW".

Do not add bullshit to the article, such as:

  1. The "numbered levels" of MGTOW. These are properly viewed not as levels but as aspects or facets, because there is no logically necessary order to the "levels".
  2. "Married MGTOW" nonsense.
  3. The "MGTOW manifesto" nonsense.
  4. Alpha / beta / omega male pseudoscience.
  5. etc.

Also, consider sharing this post with others who might be interested in contributing to the Wikipedia draft.
