My boyfriend and I have been living together for a short while now, and our apartment is pretty small so it didn't take a lot to make it look "lived in" and not like someone just moved in. I know that making a home homely, tidy and presentable is one of my proud strong suits so in my downtime, I've been wanting to add decor to the walls and around the house but I find that the things I gravitate to might not be things my boyfriend would like (too feminine) and so out of courtesy I'm trying to find a happy medium between our styles. Basically, it's lots of candles and neutral tones, with two green plants. The only issue I'm finding is the walls, they're very plain and I have over the tv, over the couch, and over the bed to fill up. I can't seem to find something that works for us that isn't tacky. Any advice? Our couch is grey and our curtains are black. We have white Ikea style furniture and our table is dark wood, if that helps.
