For dates, change your look. What you feel is dressing up may not be IT for him. Think heavy red lipstick, eye makeup. Wear something that makes YOU uncomfortable and heels so high you HAVE to hold his arm to walk. Finish the night coming out in bedroom only heels and something so sexy he instantly reacts. Make HIM notice You. He won't stop.

Have you tried asking him what he'd like you to wear? Maybe select a couple outfits & ask which he prefers?

My husband will often tell me, "Hey, I love it when you wear X outfit, could you wear that tonight?" So I started asking him occasionally what he'd like to see me wear. Every man has his style preferences- my husband would see me in leggings, Ugg boots & this cute hat he bought for me EVERY time we went out if he had his way lol.

What's in it for him? Are you truly dressing up for him; or for yourself, or for others? If it truly is for him, are the things you think he should get from it really things he cares about? Does he care what others think about his gf? Is it possible that when you get into "going out mode" you assume behaviors/aspects he isn't thrilled (for example are you mimicking what you did to get him? If so, it might look like you're still on the hunt. He can't be thrilled with that). You say you're dressing to look sexy, not necessarily good when you're taking that look out in public.

To make it simple, how does your dressing up benefit him? If you want it to be for him, then really make it for him. For example, wear a very snug choker/collar and have him collar you while kneeling in front of him. That will get his attention (if he's in to that sort of thing, the point is if it's for him, then make it about him).

Men equate respect with love. In the same way that a person is likely to use their particular love language(s) to show love to someone, men are likely to show love (not lust) through respect. He is showing you love through respecting you, which to him is not making sexual remarks about you in public, and he is doing this because he has been with you for so long-- so this is giving you higher status in his brain, and saying that he is deeply committed to you, rather than your perception that he is insulting you. He doesn't see it as not paying attention to you like you do, because you are viewing love through a female lens that at present he does not understand. I think that this is the most likely scenario based on what you've wrote. If I'm wrong I won't wipe!

I think the best course of action is to just clearly state your needs, maybe work through the book “the five love languages” together and discuss what each of you expect to see as expressions of love.

If you are noticing other men noticing you your eyes are wandering too much and your man is not your focal point. This is a red flag and a turn off for men. Ask him to order for you. Ask him to do simple easy things. Let him know you want him to, not that you need him to.
