I think you're right to be scared. I don't think it is wise to bring children into this world. People ARE getting worse and more sociopathic and it is becoming much harder to achieve financial security and home ownership. I'm childfree and in my 50's. Not having children was the best decision of my life, for both myself and the children that weren't born.

I have very similar fears to you! I wants kids, but everytime I think about that future and their future I get so scared and want to cry. I'm worried that all these issues will continue being normalised, and that my kid will have to face all the struggles we face with misogyny etc. but worse. I'm also worried that no matter how much I try to teach and shape my kid into someone with good morals and sense, they'll still end up falling into the beliefs of their peers. Its scary. I just hope things improve, and I'll keep doing my best to keep the conversation going to promote fds values.

I got banned from r/movies for arguing how creepy it is to write about the sexual exploitation of children in film. I laughed when they called me sexist🧐 What a strange thing to say to some one defending vulnerable children. I think it was over a german film, the danger is so severe and real that the child actress had to wear a mask and make a stage name to avoid public scrutiny, and let’s be honest, to probably avoid being creeped on by pedophiles the way Natalie Portman and other child actresses were harassed. People are openly supporting the “artistic“ portrayal of child rape now. Applauding the “creativity”... because those are the kind of stories that need to be told. A new kind of pioneer exploiters😔💔

It’s a shit world, for sure.

I had kids before I was old enough to be able to decide for myself, and I’ve been worried for their futures.

I’ve taught them about sexism, about boundaries both theirs and others, and I never sugar coat anything to them. They are never alone with any men, and I stay involved with their schools and teachers. They have therapists they can see whenever they want, and I just keep it real with them.

They’re still happy, creative, hilarious, brilliant kids with full childhood experiences. We travel a lot, read a lot, we don’t watch any tv but we do see movies with friendly content.

As a parent my job is to keep them safe and prepare, nurture, and love them. They’re doing really well.

It’s difficult for me to say that I wish I didn’t have them so that they could be spared the pain and bullshit in the world, but I’m not even sure that’s true. It makes sense, however I have made a pile of pretty awesome people who are a force for good. Will they make a dent? Idk. But they’ll be a true blessing to anyone they meet.

They’re brave, obstinate, have a strong sense of justice, they’re worldly, privileged, and know they better be treated with utmost respect and love or else they’re better off. They don’t have unmet needs, because I spend myself making sure all of them are met in full. Most parents don’t have the wherewithal to grow up, get therapy, and truly invest in the people they made.

I see tons of kids running around with ratty, unbrushed hair, ill fitted clothes, unsupervised for hours at a time. Their parents are kinda spread thin. Too weak, too addicted to whatever gives them comfort. Idk.

If I knew what I know now about the world, I never would have had children. But if I knew my kids how I know them now... it’s a lot of effort. Unbearable at times. It’s taxing and constant. I haven’t slept a full night in ten years but I might still have had them, knowing them now as they’re getting a little older.

As it is they’re here. So I better make the most of them.

I think the only way to go about raising kids in this world, especially if you live in America/the west where there is 0 individual accountability and much perversion, is to seriously isolate your kids from society. For ex a friend of mine has little kids and she'll be homeschooling them. They will also never have unsupervised access to the internet and will not have cell phones until they're teenagers (and even then idt they will be phones w/ data plans). She won't let them go over to other kids' houses either w/o her or her husband present (unless she REALLY know the family). Idk if that's something realistic for you, but it's the best way to protect your kids.

I'm basically an anti-natalist for this reason :( It's depressing. I've come to terms with accepting the reality though. I wish I could get a tubal ligation just to be sure I won't have to make a critical decision while I'm still fertile.

I think I was a teenager when porn sites became popular. Maybe always there was playboy magazine, but I think the major porn websites were being created when I was a teen. Even in my dreams, I meet a loving, good, kind, just man who I have 3 healthy children with, he is wealthy (successful enough to support our needs and occasional wants without struggle, buy a house, secure financial future, and my own bank account for safety), we live happily ever after and he cooks me dinner.

But in reality, I am not having kids. too many degenerate perverts, and I don't trust a man to stay with me thru motherhood.
