What are your ages, relationship status, time together?

DH 27 and I 27 have been together for 7 years. Our LO is nearly two months old. We enjoyed a good selfie before LO´s birth and started getting into it again full swing after I got the all clear.

What is the problem, and what do you think is the root of the issue?

We knew that on August 2 my DH would be laid off. Since he has been laid of for economic reasons and his former positions we were both quite certain that he would find another job easily. Unfortunately after the first three negative replays he stopped applying. He is eligible for unemployment money - provided he applies regularly and proves it. He does not do that and got 50% of the money stripped off. His Caseworkersuggested a course where he can gain additional qualification but he refuses

I find myself resentful of his behavior, I was raised with a strong work ethic and I know his parents taught him the same. Effort bears fruit, laziness breeds poverty and dumbness. It takes so much to respect him as a man at the moment, he behaves like a boy who whines about the world being unfair. Since I am breast-feeding I am not in a position where I would be able to find work above minimum pay easily but I have to applications ready to go.

I Trend to bolster his self esteem and be the cheerleader he needs, but there is zero effort and much criticism for how I handle the household. (Since I am frugal I spend much time preserving natures blessings right now and do only the most important housekeeping - our home is clean and well kept but not Home of the Year Standart.) I know there is not much I can do without disrespecting him r making him feel emasculated. But I keep asking myself how it will go on.
