How important is the physical beauty of your potential partner(husband/father of your children)?

I think average looking people can have gorgeous babies, and vice-versa. So if you're specifically thinking, "I need a hot man to have beautiful babies," you may not necessarily get the perfect-looking children you hope for in that way.

Some examples -- my best friend is very good looking, but her parents are (and always have been) very average looking people. Not necessarily "ugly", but nothing to write home about either. Or, on the other end of the spectrum, my boyfriend and his parents are very good looking people, but his brother is not.

You can't guarantee how your child will look, if it will be attractive in the future, etc. All you can do is love it and give it all the non-physical advantages possible.

I think genetic recombination is too powerful to get overly hung up on this. Look at the parents of really beautiful models, or even their siblings. Usually their families are pretty average looking. Extreme beauty is rare and to a great extent just luck. With that said I do think a huge amount of attraction (maybe even the vast majority of it) is based in wanting certain genes for one's offspring. This goes for beauty as well as intelligence, charisma, athleticism, etc.

My kid is gorgeous, hubby and I are low SMV. I would say it's just pot luck

Like others said, parent beauty =/= child beauty. My parents are both average (though they aged well) and my sister in her prime was probably a HB8.5 and I'm less great looking but still pretty attractive. My LTR has straight up ugly parents, yet is very good-looking too.

That said, yes, better looking partners will give you better looking kids on average--so do put SOME weight in it. Also feed your kids good food and not shit food--that's really going to be where you make the difference. I think my LTR is so good-looking because of that, because the parents, though ugly, do eat incredibly healthy.

Unless severely disfigured, which would cause total discarding because of zero attraction... Zero. The man has guts, drive, brain, loves me and treats me well? As long as I feel attraction, that's good enough.

I don't think being too beautiful is that good, either. Models have the worst self-esteem ever.

I think the development of the child is the most important part.

If your son eats good stuff, does A LOT OF SPORTS AND has a high testosterone level all the time he will develop manly and good features. Will have good skin , nice overall frame,good social skills and and and.

Best example is mouth breathing. If your child always breathes with an open mouth it will most likely get that specific mouth breather look.

I regularly pray for healthy children or no children at all. My husband and I are probably average looking plus effort, so I'm sure our kids will look fine. When I was dating, I sought someone whom I COULD find attractive, as rarely does anyone but an actor turn my head. Overall health was probably more important. Does he smoke? Is he massively overweight? Does he drink too much?

You can't really gauge how someone is going to look as an adult at 4 years old. He could end up 300lbs with premature baldness for all you know.

I didn't really think about it when I got with my fiance. I'm about a 3. My fiance is objectively a 7 or an 8. His son is absolutely adorable. I'd say we'll have cute kids.
