Just finished the more modernized version of The Rules by Ellen Fein and I must say, her advice is spot on!

This is a fantastic read for anyone who is dating or even in a relationship.

Some highlights:

  1. Your weekends are your offline time - you are busy doing a million things so don't devote it to responding to texts from guys or messages from online dating. If a guy texts you at night (especially late at night!!) don't even bother answering until the next day.

  2. Avoid getting sucked in pointless text conversations that go nowhere. Keep your chats short then end them so you can go off and get back to work, gym, friends, etc.

  3. Don't travel to meet a guy for a date. He can come to your neighborhood or near your work.

  4. Don't accept last-minute date invites. This is lazy.

  5. If you don't hear from a man after a date, then move on. Seriously. If he doesn't follow up with another date then you can very safely assume he's moved on to the next and so should you! Don't text him asking for a second date.
