Good job breaking up with a budding alcoholic abuser. That’s not easy to do after 2.5 years of sunk costs. I’m just curious if there were any small signs of this tendency of his from the get-go, or whether he hid his red flag of addiction?

In terms of your goal of finding someone great in their late 40s, of course it’s possible (that is, after we all overcome this global pandemic 😷). Our odds of meeting someone worthy always increase the more we are passionately living out our own dreams & are leveled-up!

I feel like you're not getting good advice so I'm sorry about that.

I am young, but I can relate to your fears. After my fiance died I worried I would never find anyone again. But both my aunt and mother had to start over again in their forties and fifties. My aunt spent over ten years alone after dumping her first LVM husband and is now extremely happy with her HVM that dotes on her and adores her. They have an extremely happy and healthy relationship. My mother had to start over multiple times. Her first HVM husband died and she was left with five kids. She had a few unsuccessful relationships after that but is now happily settled down with an EXTREMELY HVM that she is proud to show off to her friends and who loves taking care of her.

I don't know if a lot of the women here are very young or are just parroting what they hear other ladies say but the response you're getting isn't normal. It's healthy to want someone to share your life with.

If the drinking had a negative impact on the relationship, you were correct in ending it. I’m sorry it happened, but good for you.

I have not personally and maybe it is me but I have not met anybody in an extended time who I wanted to date.
