Hey TRP,

I was introduced to this sub from a friend of mine who sent me countless articles from here. I am a 28 year old male, who just got out of a long rough relationship. I took a few months off, gathered my thoughts, eliminated that girl from my life, got a new job, new stuff to focus on. Now I am looking to get out there again, and this is my problem.

I met a really cute girl on my daily commute (I take a train). I have known of her for 3 months now or so, and we have talked solo for maybe 2 months.

After the first month I would say, I asked her out for drinks on the weekend. Her response was: Are these friendly drinks? I respond with: All my drinks are friendly. She laughs and says, well no I would not want to go if it was anything more than friendly. I Respond with: Well no, it would totally be more, and in that case i am not interested. Lets not be awkward on the train on Monday.

Since then we continued to talk on the train, we walk to work now every day together and continue to have great conversations.

She invited me to her birthday with included all of her friends and one other person I knew, and when I got there we laughed talked etc etc. Got her a drink for her birthday and just hung out with her and her friends. (almost all were women and the guys there were boyfriends)

Since then we continue to talk and she picked me up from work one day in her car and drove me home. During that night there was a lot of talking from her (she mostly doesn't shut up) and a lot of hair twirling and smiling, but nothing else.

I am confused, frankly, I know my alternative rejection to her for friendly drinks was a good move. But what is my next step. She has said things that kind of make me wonder, but I am worried I may be over analyzing the situation.

What do I do?

TL;DR - Girl on the train rejected me for drinks, I re-rejected her for friendly drinks, we have had casual flirty behaviour since. Stuck now on wanting more from her.
