So I dated this guy for 3ish months. He was a generally nice guy but I could not see a long term future with him. He was 8 years my senior but always insisted we split the bill, never put effort into planning dates I would enjoy, lacked the motivation/discipline to reach his goals, drank too much, was a one-sided lover and couldn't keep his place clean.
At the time I thought I just wasn't ready for a relationship (just got out of one a month prior), and figured that's why my feelings weren't progressing. That's what I told him when I broke it off with him. After some distance I realized I didn't have feelings because he's not a HVM and he completely turned me off.
He wanted to stay friends and I agreed, because he was decent company despite not being relationship material. I went out with him a couple times as friends but it's clear he's holding onto the hope that one day I'll "be ready" to be in a relationship.
I'm kind of over it and I have enough friends so I just stopped responding to his texts. He has sent me 4 texts and called me twice in the past couple of weeks.
Do I owe him an explanation or just block and move on? I honestly feel like ghosting was the nicer alternative to telling him, "I don't want to be with you because you spend most of your free time drinking, you're dirty, bad in bed and aren't going anywhere in life"
