This is so horrible why is pay contingent on the release? Why have we been told for years that everything in porn is agreed to and talked about far in advanced? Why is rape effectively legal if there is a camera in frame? Yes she agreed to do a scene but she did not consent to all of that and the fact that she would not get paid if she had said that was not okay is horrible- these women are usually bringing their own wardrobe to the set, paying for mileage, health costs, often doing their own hair and makeup and if the terms change while theyre on set after they have 0 protection. Disgusting.

I used to have a porn addiction. It completely perverted my sense of self, my sexuality, and my ability to have relationships. I developed a strong sense of fear of men. I couldn’t think about anything besides sex, every waking hour I was thinking about porn. My first relationship had a very unhealthy “kink” dynamic, which I won’t go in to, but it was very much influenced by my porn addiction (and his). I’m still dealing with the trauma from that & porn.

I originally stopped watching porn for myself, because of what it was doing to me, but I slipped up a few times — until I did more research into the industry itself. After that, it was a full stop for me. It wasn’t just about me anymore, it was about the countless victims of the porn industry.

I don’t understand why porn is so normalized. The porn industry is very connected with the sex trafficking industry — you have absolutely no way of knowing if the video was consensual or rape (and even if it was consensual, good chance it was like this situation, and not actually consensual).

Don’t watch porn. Ever. Don’t date guys who watch porn. Ever. It is completely sick and perverted that porn is so normalized in our society.

Edit: Let me clarify. I was thinking about how she was bullied and dragged to suicide by so choked sex positive feminists because she didn't want to shoot a scene with a bi male. People literally told her to kill herself over her choices.

And I shouldn't have to go into how some sex positive people will excuse those scenes as consensual but gone wrong.
