I kept contact as minimal as possible. I did not speak to my ex-husband until travel plans needed to be made. You may need to discuss more than that, but keep it professional as much as possible.

I see women getting too involved in their exes personal life (who he’s dating, what he’s doing, that has nothing to do with the child). Not saying you are doing that, but sometimes, the less we know, the better for us emotionally. As long as my child was treated well and safe, I let other stuff slide if it was out of my control.

What kind of issues are you having, minor or major?

This happens to me a lot. His favorite thing to do is ask me who's watching our kid on a holiday. I tell him to ask someone he knows to watch him. I have no one here, and his whole family, new wife's family, and support systems are here. His response ALWAYS, EVERY time is: I have off that day, I'll keep him. Drives me batshit crazy. I can now expect these texts every time school is out for a holiday because he never works on holidays, but always makes it a point to ask me what we're doing for childcare that day KNOWING full well he's off and is going to keep him. Sometimes he even asks me to schedule childcare with the company we use only to tell me last minute he's off and keeping him and then I have to call the company myself and let them know he isn't coming in. They feel sorry for me and usually don't charge a cancellation fee.

Yesterday I am still mad about. They ask to keep our son on my night and I say ok even though it's weird. Next thing I get is "and you can keep him Thursday because we don't have to work Friday and it would be silly for us to have to get up and take him to school". What planet do these selfish assholes live on? I still take him to school if I'm out of work and/or sick as a dog. It's called PARENTING. His school is just as out of my way as it is theirs and his Dad picked the school and wouldn't let us change it. Unreal

Girl, I feel you. I usually don't get nasty with them at all. It's not worth it. I just vent to friends about them. With them I even respond like it's a work email or don't respond at all.

When you can’t avoid talking in person, do not take bait. Greyrock and/or change the subject even if it’s nonsensical. “You’re a bitch!” “I heard it’s supposed to rain Friday.”

If you have to interact with the new girlfriend, act very happy for them. A “thanks for taking my sloppy seconds!” attitude will give her more pause than confirming your ex’s trash talk about you, that you’re a bitter bitch.
