We're not in the 1950's anymore. Both men and women work hard to financially support themselves these days, the housing market and economy can be tough. Guys are nervous about dating gold digger types.

If a woman demands the man pay for dates still, out of old fashioned tradition, well doesn't that thinking feel like outdated 50's ideology?

Wouldn't a man appreciate a woman who who will graciously accept I'd he offers to pay for the date, but is still willing to be fair/equal and help pay for outings?

Then again, according to this subreddit, a man might see a woman as more of an intriguing, worthwhile challenge and "wife material" if he has to work harder to earn her affections, or something?

What am I missing here?

Is it really ok to demand free meals, because we believe it will set up a precedence for better treatment from the man in the long haul, as opposed to them giving us their bare minimum because we're communicating, it doesn't take much effort for them to treat us well after all?

My love style is to do consistent little acts of kindness, and I would want the same from a partner.

Please help me understand this better, as I'd like a quality man who sincerely wants to treat me well, and will not walk over my natural kindly nature. Thank you

It'd be cool and definitely welcomed if they want to extra treat me, which is an excellent healthy sign they're actually into you, soooo.. how to really approach this the right way, and fairly?? I mean, I want them to feel like I'm willing to spoil them too from time to time, if they really are a worthwhile good guy.
