I have always disliked the way I feel on birth control. I’ve tried them all. 3 IUD’s, depo shot, pills, Nuva ring & 2 arm implants.

Last month I decided to get back on birth control and absolutely hate it. The most attractive part of BC is not having a period. However the list of side effects far outweigh that benefit.

The follow list is why I’ve decided to stop

  • returning acne - the arm implant absolutely destroyed my skin. I’ve spent sooo much time and money feeling confident without covering my skin I’m foundation

  • fatigue - during the first week of a new ring especially I am dead tired.

*irritated vagina - the ring is causing me to feel very uncomfortable at all times. I noticed almost immediately when I took it out the irritation subsided

  • embarrassing text - I had sex with a guy I’m dating and had to text him the next day because my ring came out at his house. I didn’t notice until the next day when I showered and checked. I wasn’t planning on telling him I was on BC.

As I’m having this awful post BC period I’m so tempted to go pick up my new ring from the pharmacy. Even after writing this all out those issues seem so minor. I can understand why some people just deal with it. I’ve tried to talk to a few friends about this and none of them really support me. Feeling very alone in this decision.
