He has always said he loves when girls propose and we have been talking a lot about our future and wedding stuff. So I ordered the ring and it arrives tomorrow <3 I'm so nervous. But also excited!
Been dating 2 years and some months. He is the best man in this world to me and I want to be his wife so badly. I'd love to be married in January 2021. Cross your fingers for me!
UPDATE: I ordered his ring on the Zales website and had complimentary 2 day shipping. It took 3 days to get here but it arrived safely. So we made plans to walk down the dock at a nearby park on the water, which we typically do once a month, and then grab pierogies afterward. We were walking down the dock and my heart is beating out of my chest, my mouth gets really dry, and I'm shaking because it's cold and I'm nervous as hell. When we got to the end of the dock I asked him to unscrew my chapstick. I snatch the ring from my wristlet and get down on one knee. I asked him if he would allow me to be his wife. He said yes and we ate pierogies before going to Zales to get a bigger size on his ring and to pick mine out. We then got Dairy Queen to make the day even sweeter!

I think the one of a woman who's planning on wearing her mom's wedding dress and hasn't even gotten a proposal lol

No it was one where the woman proposed to the man and he was mad at her.

I never got the appeal of proposing to a guy. I’m going to commit my life to you, ruin my body to give us a family, etc and you cannot even buy me a ring that will last me a lifetime and propose to me? Especially because women are still known to shoulder a lot of emotional labor around the home. I don’t mean to judge but it just sounds pathetic to me.
I see similar posts where some dude buys a girl a $200 ring and asks “am I the asshole for buying a cheap ring” and everyone in the comments are bashing the women saying yes. These idiots don’t understand that if your marriage is to last a lifetime a ring that’s $200 is not going to cut it. The gemstones will eventually fall out, turn our finger green, etc. And if you cannot afford a ring that will last a lifetime then you have no business getting married or starting a family, because those are much more expensive.

Imagine spending money on a ring for a MAN. Jesus Christ.

Dumb. At least this will weed the guy out when he shits the bed. If he wanted to be with her he would have proposed to her by now after 2 years together. Men always propose because they are the ones who are worthless and must make a display and prove that they are worthy. I will sit back and wait for a man to prove himself to me. we are the ones that invest our lives and our value, risk abuse and rape, and p,ut ourselves in an extremely physically financially, and emotionally vulnerable position by having a man's child. We can perpetuate his genes. He cannot do that without us. We literally grant them longer lives and they take those years directly from us.

Not only that, why give them gloating rights for the rest of their lives? Start as you mean to go on.

This isn't a yikes. I see this as a woman setting the pace for the relationship and getting what she wants. We all have different ways of winning the dating game. This is her's and I congratulate that. She seems to be the one in charge of that relationship and that's honestly the dream. Men need to step down and let the woman take charge, because this day in age, we know what the hell we are doing. He'll be better playing support.

Agreed. I realize now though this isn't the 'right opinion' to have in this sub Reddit because our comments are being downvoted, but I'm glad we have roughly the same opinion at least. Can't judge a marriage by it's proposal and all that.
