My man has problems, but he cares about my aspirations. He does 50% around the house despite earning more money AND having other advantages over me (I'm a foreigner with an EU blue card bc of him) He asks me about my day every night and makes sure to give me plenty of time to keep up with my schoolwork and study French. This is why I put up with the flaws he does have. Do not settle for less.

I live in a medium sized city that is a six+ hour drive from the next largest city. I get lots of messages from men in that city even though I’ve explicitly stated that I am seeking a serious monogamous relationship with people who live in or near to the city in which I live because I don’t want a long distance relationship.

They tell me the distance doesn’t matter. I tell them I’ll let them know when what I want is no longer important to me. One dude beleaguered the point and I attempted to make it clear by explaining that I need to see someone and spend time with I’m dating in person frequently. He responded by telling me he could give me all the sex I need. Yes Asshole, the only reason I require physical proximity to a romantic partner is to get fucked. Never mind non-sexual intimacy or going out into the world together to share experiences and interact with others and get to know each other.

Sometimes they tell me it’s fine because they come to my city often for work. I ask if they are here every weekend and a night or two during the week every week. Of course they aren’t here that often and when they are here, they will likely be working for the majority of the day. So, you think when I say I want a serious monogamous relationship I actually mean that I want to be available to service your exhausted dick once or twice a month when you get done working?

And even better are the ones that ask me if I ever visit their city and would I like to maybe get dinner and ‘see what happens’. Oh, you mean you’d like to purchase sex from me for the cost of a meal? I would say that I’d prefer the cash, but most professionals aren’t going to turn a trick for around $50.

When I suggest they hire a professional as I think doing the work of one without getting paid is stupid they don’t get mad about the part of that quip that they should. They never consider that what they are offering is in no way appealing to me and that if I just wanted some D it makes no sense to subject myself to all the possible risks and likely disappointments that come from meeting a stranger when I could just call up someone I already know to handle the task. They declare that they don’t pay for sex, they ‘never have and they never will’ as if that declaration should somehow be worthy of praise. Jesus Christ! A man who hires a professional to do a job when a professional is called for and sparing some poor lady the bullshit is the saint here.
