I know it's recommended not to date a guy that is enmeshed with his mother because you'll never come first. That he shouldn't run to his mother with all your relationship problems.
Where is the line for this with daughters and fathers? I come from a very traditional family and always request that guys meet my father so he can vet them before making a relationship official. If he gets bad vibes from them, they're out. Same for marriage, they would have to ask his permission for my hand.
I've had guys claim this "isn't feminist," or that it "makes them uncomfortable." I don't think it should, but I try to be self aware, so I wanted to get others opinions.
Is having your dad meet and vet potential partners as bad as mama's boys?
