I moved to another state for him and we’re currently living together. I caught him on tinder and he told me that being with one person doesn’t cut it for him and I should stop being a “jealous c*nt”. He admitted he wants to have sex with other women and if I allow him he would become more close to me. He says I could go to the basement if he brings another woman over. The ironic thing is he’s very jealous and hates when men look at me.

I told him I’m not interested and I want to break up, but he threatened me. He told me he would spread lies to his family that I was a prostitute and make my life a living hell if I left him. I feel so trapped I don’t know what he wants from me....I need help.

I can share my story. When I was 21 I met a man online in the UK (I am in the US). We bonded immediately over a shared obsession with a band (think how people travel around to see Phish, same deal - not the same band). After two years of long distance, I relocated to the UK on a student visa (grad school) to be with him. I got over 20,000 in student loans, sold EVERY belonging (car, all furniture, everything), and moved there.

The moment I arrived in the UK I could tell he had completely changed. It was like he did a 180. He stopped his cute, charming act. First off, he didn't give me a key to our new home right away, nor did he even get time off work to help me get settled in my new country. I was mostly left to fend for myself in getting a bank account, a phone, etc. Then, he started bitching when he came home from work and there wasn't dinner ready for him. I was SO lonely being in a foreign place without anyone I knew, and he'd just ditch me a LOT in the evenings to go out with friends--outings where I wasn't included or invited.

He complained that I was in his hair all the time, and he was irked when the apartment wasn't spotless and if I hadn't cooked him dinner. Then, he complained that he didn't like my cooking. He stopped having sex with me. When I was sad or lonely, he was completely dismissive and unsupportive. Then, I decided to branch out on my own and make some school friends--THEN he complained that I hadn't included HIM! So I started inviting him to some events with my school friends.

Essentially, he made my life in the UK totally miserable. To make matters worse, he had assumed my parents were paying for college and had no issue leeching off me like a worm. I JUST paid off these student loans last week. I ended up leaving his ass one day while he was at work, without any warning. Apparently, I totally destroyed him. He ended up marrying one of my classmates whom he'd met on one of my outings.
