I spoke with Athol Kay from MMSL on the phone. He was very helpful. I'm still having trouble coming to forgiveness. While I know marriage and LTRs are not promoted on TRP, I wanted your thoughts anyway. Here are the facts:

  1. Wife had an emotional affair over a year ago with a friend of mine. I travel a lot for work so I am absent and focused on my work (Athol suggested that I was being TOO alpha, which doesn't go well with maintaining LTRs).

  2. We married early. Traditional culture. Divorce is expensive at this point in time. I would take a big hit.

  3. While I rarely express it (my number one issue) I really do feel quite attached to my wife. I care about her, her well being and her future.

  4. She confessed on her own volition, after I went through a sudden jolt of self-improvement. Though this was months after the fact. The "trickle truth" also happened.

  5. She (supposedly) hasn't had sex with anyone else. Athol's advice was that there would be no reason for her to air her dirty laundry with me and confess yet leave out critical details. After many weeks of grilling her, I do believe her.

  6. While sex frequency was always high, her enthusiasm is higher.

  7. She is in her late 20s. No baby yet. Athol says her desire for a baby will increase. She is very well kept up physically.

  8. She does well in taking care of the house, errands and other things. She pulls in a considerable salary too (though significantly less than mine).

I'm at a loss here. Betrayal is sensitive to me. I went through betrayal from family members as a child. It's hard for me to let go. I know that I need to forgive her to move on. For the first time in my life, I'm having a hard time making a decision. There are so many factors at play. I don't think that I'll be able to find a replacement as hot as she is that is also as submissive as she is without going very very young (most of the girls I meet are way too slutty for a LTR).

Right now I am not talking with her. Which is an intuitive response that isn't beta enough. I have a hard time adding beta tendencies to my repertoire.
