Raising a child only works if BOTH parents are doing it as a team. My husband and I have daily "me-time", where we can either sleep or do hobbies. Our son is ALWAYS cared for and it's a no-brainer that a child needs to be fed and having his diaper changed. It's definitely child neglect if one parent doesn't do that. My husband actually threw up the first few times he had to handle a poopy diaper. Did it stop him from doing it? Fuck no, the child needs a clean diaper and as a responsible parent you just KNOW that. Goddamn, once again.. don't have children with NVM. Just raise the child alone or with help from your family, but don't make the baby's childhood traumatic just because you're not willing to be alone.

Ugh. My ex was kind of like this when it came to feeding his kids (his kids, not ours). They were a bit older, and they were slipping into bad habits of being really crabby and moody later in the day. I told him it was because they were never eating. He'd ask them throughout while they played video games if they were hungry, and of course, the answer was no. Their noses were pressed up against the Switch, not caring about anything else. Then surprise, 4:00PM rolled around and it was like tantrum after tantrum. Finally, I told him he had to stop asking the kids to eat and start telling the kids to eat. Magically, the afternoon tantrums stopped. I get frustrated thinking about that.

It's totally passive-aggressive on the part of the husband. Of course he knows the right thing to do, but his wife dared to take 5 whole hours of me time so now he's going to punish her. He's training her not to ask for me time again, and it will work. This is abuse all around.

Yet people wonder why I don't want children. I think if we want children we pretty much have to prepare to be single mothers. I can't count one one hand the amount of times I've come across loving, involved and great fathers.

"AMITA for not reminding my husband that his own baby needs to be fed" !? 😭😭😭 I can't imagine having a child with someone who it doesn't even occur to him to think about baby's needs. That kind of self centeredness, entitlement, and "well the woman will take care of it" is so deeply ingrained it would take years to get rid of and a ton of work on his part. Which he'd probably be unwilling to do so it'll never change!
