The purpose of the RP model is to engage in a relationship in which you're in control of, that brings you joy, which funnily enough is also the fuel that drives a relationship to last. A women cannot be attracted to a man who isn't in control, at some point it will fail.

If those girls didn't stick with you because of your Alpha behaviors, either you weren't doing it right or you would have been the beta in the relationship, which would come to bite you down the line in a hypergamous sexual market where she'll gladly branch swing to an alpha without consequence(unlike in the old days like the 80 year old couple you speak of)

It's not don't trust hoes or anything like that, what is meant is don't put the cart before the horse. Don't look for a wife, it's not an audition for a role. First be with someone for who they are, enjoy them for the stage in the relationship you're at. If she shows potential you invest further in.

She first has to show promise before even considering it.

Is she treating you well?, is she serving you and your goals? Does she enable or inhibit your goals? If she does then she is proving herself to a good prospect and you can explore further.

I still hold firm that marriage in this climate is a poor option. The social consequneces that enabled to be a good choice do not exist anymore and it's up to you to protect yourself as much as possible.

You can gladly engage in a long term partnership. My neighbour has been doing it for 20+ years, has a great, happy family.

Starting a family and marrying the right girl is the true end goal. RP helps us vet girls out. If you live in a liberal area marriage is a lot harder to find. Plus young girls don’t want marriage they just want a wedding. But I’m still searching for a wife as well but not devoting too much energy into anymore.

Single or in a ltr, both have pros and cons. Staying single is the safer option not necessarily the best option.

Also keep in mind its the holidays. So you may feel a certain way about because the holidays are made for families pretty much.

Once you get past February 15th you probably won't be thinking you need a family.

TRP is a toolset, not a plan of action. You can use TRP knowledge to try to find the most stable and successful LTR possible, but if you really swallowed the pill, you'd know it's an uphill battle. All the people saying it's impossible are retarded. There are definitely some long-term couples. It is difficult, though

People that stayed married together for a long time all have one thing in common: the married early and both had a very low partner count.

Sleeping around even effects a male's ability to pair bond, but not as much.

Basically, go for young women who have not been snatched up by a career/college. Not all women sleep around before they hit the age of 20, find those and pair bond them to you, treat them as you would treat a daughter and they WILL pair bond to you.

I don't think you fully understand what being married means. It doesn't mean you "get" someone to grow old with, it's not a movie, and its very sometimes extremely difficult. I have an amazing wife one of the best, but she's told me the same stories about her family 100 times, she never stops talking and raising a kid is really hard. Take a step back and consider what you want in your life because once you are married and have a kid your life is not about you and what you want anymore, you will effectively be a wage slave and none of your money will go to you. Again, this is all if you have a good wife that isn't inherently showing you she's going to bail and ruin your life, my wife only gets mean before her period and I trust her. But, many men have awful marriages with awful women that get fat and one thing we all have in common, no matter how good our marriages, the woman can take the kid and divorce you tomorrow. Im pretty poor right now I have no doubt given the right circumstances my wife would jump ship, and I'd expect it. Women aren't "evil" or "bad" they are just different than us and do and want different things. That's how they evolved. They want the most handsome high status Male to mate with and the most resource heavy man to help raise the kid.

It's a hard balance to strike, 40 with kids and still trying to figure it out. I'm not sorry I got married and had kids (my kids are the best thing ever) but you'll see from my posting history that some parts of my life didn't quite turn out how I expected. I met my wife in my mid 20s and thought I had found a good one who wasn't ruined yet by endless dating, and for a while it seemed that way. Then the "midlife crisis" hit. Now we're patching things up again and I'm also striking the more alpha pose, using dread etc. and it works but it comes at an emotional price. I'm a colder and more cynical person. Sometimes I still want to be vulnerable etc. but I tend to pull back from it because I'm not gonna be a sucker twice. But there are still good things about our marriage in spite of all that.

My wife basically knows she has it better with me than without me and she now knows the lines she can't cross. Five years ago I couldn't imagine myself saying this, but I put her back in her place. There are power dynamics in relationships whether you want to see them or not. Now I'm very aware of them.

In spite of everything, on the whole I have few regrets. Maybe that's what the whole "better to have loved and lost" thing means. I got bruised up good, but I've developed a lot as a person and I still feel proud of what I've achieved in my career, proud of my family, etc. I don't think I would have done all that I've done with my life as a forever single guy. I don't envy my single friends at all.

I've learned some useful things from TRP, but I also think these subs tend to paint everything in extremes, all black and white.

So I guess my advice is, yes, vet girls and try to find a "good one" and then take a chance on her, if that's what you want out of life. Just go in with your eyes open. Some really are better than others. That doesn't mean any of them are perfect.
