Do you confirm meetings with your first ODL dates? If yes, when?

I don’t confirm. I wait for him to confirm. If I don’t hear from him the day of or night before then I don’t bother getting ready or make other plans.

If he messages be like “I never heard from you so I went out with my friends. Maybe next time!”

No canceling only an hour before is not acceptable. Unless his mother just died or he just got in a car accident.

I literally never expect them to follow through until they say “let’s meet at x spot at x time” and then that’s that. If they say “let’s go out Wednesday” and never tell me where or when then I just make other plans. Not really necessary to confirm the day of if they’ve already told me the day and time and made it clear they have made reservations.

You should let him do the confirmation. Generally I would say he should be reaching out to you to confirm the date or say something like "I'm really looking forward to our dinner tomorrow" If it's a date in the evening and he doesnt text the morning of I wouldn't bother getting ready and meeting up. They know how to get ready and go into work on time and should be able to do the same for dates. Many drs office even make phone calls confirming the appointments.

I do wait for a confirmation message. But also if it’s OLD for safety reasons I don’t give a man my number until after the date.

Communication, Clarity, Consistency.

Communication: I confirm a few hours or hour before. “See you at 7 at xyz?” I would say that for any meeting of any type.

Clarity: I don’t say things like “are we still on for tonight??” Or “are you still down to meet?” that seems desperate to me.

But that doesn’t change anything he could still stand you up. You can’t change what men may or may not do. You can just change your reaction.

Consistency: I have a consistent response. If they contact me I am no longer interested and block them.

An amazing thing I started doing is getting ready and going there if I get stood up or cancelled on last minute, I still have the date as a bomb ass solo date and I take myself to a thing nearby I like doing. 🤷🏾‍♀️ If I have time for a date with a man I have time for a date with myself.

I had a brunch date and got stood up, and the only way I saved my own ass from looking like a fool was checking in. But really, I should've just waited for HIM to text and ask. If he is really looking forward to seeing you, he can ask again before the date to make sure everything is still good to go.

When I was dating I’d assume the date is not on unless I got confirmation the same day that we are still doing something. I never text first and wait to be contacted. If he doesn’t reach out the same day I make different plans. The most I’ve done was ask: “Are we still on for tonight?” if we are already having a conversation that day

What is odl? I say like ok I’m gonna do x for the rest of the day then meet you at 7pm/ whatever the plan is.
