Moving out is an American attitude. In many countries, moving out happens when you get married and no one thinks it wrong.

Do this. Stay as long as possible. Save every penny. Then by 30 you will have a ton of money.

I live with my parents. Idgaf what other people think about me. Everyone else is paying off a mortgage (or someone else’s by renting) so as far as money goes they’re the ones either in a lot of fucking debt or paying for someone else’s lifestyle.

Sure I pay board, buy groceries now and then, cook sometimes, look after their pets, keep them company, etc. I remind myself how many people say they regret not seeing their parents enough before they got old and passed away. I’ll have no regrets because I’m spending as much time as I can with them.

Fuck whatever piece of shit shames you for it. Those cunts that do that probably have daddy issues or have otherwise been born with the silver spoon in their mouth having mommy and daddy set them up (or maybe because they hate their own kids so much they’d piss them off buying them their own house).

Anyway, there’s no shame in it. Especially in today’s fucked up world.

My friend is close to 40 and lives with his parents in big house. There was huge pressure from family/ friends that he should move out, which he did. After half a year his parents asked him to come back. They couldn't handle simple tasks like paying the bills, dealing with people trying to scam them. In general it appeared that his parents needed him, not the opposite.

Sadly in America and here (England) that the stigma of a man (not woman) living with their parents is a bad thing and people (usually women) would rather see you down on your luck, getting into major debt, struggling to pay bills and basically living on the streets etc as more manly and "independent" than actually saving your life by living with your parents.

I'm glad I ignored society, which the only debt I have is a mortgage, so ignore society and do what is best for you.

Stay there. Is the best for you. Help them out and help the expenses. Try to join money and dont spent (because you dont pay for a house), try to acquire the full amount to buy your own house. Rent is money throw out. At least in my country rent is robbery and is cheaper to buy and pay monthly to the bank. But if you can join a lot of money and give for the entrance more money, you pay less monthly. My example, i stay with my parents until 30. And in the 2011 Portugal crise i buy a great house (lot cheaper because that year crise) with cash. I only ask 4000€ to the bank because i need to make a few renovation and buy furniture. I pay that 4000€ in one year.

I only managed to buy my house full amount because i live that time with my parents.

I’m going to go against the grain here and tell you that moving out and becoming independent has a psychological impact on your psyche that you can’t quantify.

I firmly believe moving out of my parents house at 26 was the best thing that happened to me.

When you no longer have that subconscious mental safety net of a roof over your head, food in the fridge and warm bed you really start to mature. You start taking responsibility for your actions, start to think differently. It drove me to become good at my job, to advance my career, to earn good $$. To put me on the path of “fuck you” position as soon as possible.

It’s kinda the same thing as people who never owned a house chirping how houses are a bad investment.

Honestly, I will NEVER live in apartment or condo or an HOA house.

You can’t put a price on the piece of mind of coming to YOUR castle, where you are the king of your domain.

Don't get caught up in what people say about your situation, whether it's IRL or reddit. Depending on where in the world you're situated the societal expectations can differ significantly.

Generally, in western countries, there is the idea that offspring should move out by a certain age & not doing so is seen as encroaching on their parents space. Just like the mainstream narrative is elucidated in this corner of reddit - similarly I would promote & encourage an unorthodox view on the matter.

You should take all the advantages available to you. Given the opportunity society will shame you, do not cave into this pressure, given the same chance others will not hesitate where you are reluctant.

Benefits of living with your parents:

Safety - you know them.
Monetary - sharing household expenses or being graced from them is an enormous asset.

The only thing I would caution is that you don't want to become entangled in their affairs. Influenced in such a way as to hamper your own development & progression in life. As long as that is not the case I see no reason for self doubt.

Also I look after my elderly parents. Not because I owe them anything or because society expects me to or even that they expect me to. I'm selfish like them & do it for myself.

As long as you are helping out, trying to make your life better, then there is nothing wrong with it. Your early 20's can be a difficult time. I make in the 6 digits and can easily afford my own house. 32 and still living with my parents. I cover all the utilities, groceries, insurance, and taxes for the house despite 3 people residing in it.

It is better than pissing away the money on some landlord so he can give it to his wife and buy her a Porsche or something.

Anyways, don't believe what the cucked mainstream thinking is about having your own place if you have the option of living with your parents and you can tolerate that.

No, it's really a western concept to move out once you hit 18. Don't get me wrong, moving out can be great, but living with family is great too. A close support structure, a way to build up funds while also contributing to the household, and a greater sense of stability. Just make sure you actually help out and participate rather than just slob around on the internet all day every day.

The thing is, despite being an introvert, living alone gets lonely pretty quickly. Humans are social animals. We always lived in groups. Feeling lonely is not healthy. It‘s not good on the long term.

In my case, of course, i started looking for a woman to fill that emptiness. What can you expect from a teenager who had no opportunity to learn about the truth, what we call red pill today. While i was not unlucky as some guys, i have learned about trp in my own hard way.

Anyway, are you happy? Stay. Are you not sure? Rent an appartment for a month or two, see how you deal with lonlyness.

Bro fuck that moving out stuff i left home at 18 and struggled most the early years of my life, when my father passed away a few years ago my elderly mom asked me if i wanted to come stay rent free and just help her out with errands and taking her to her dr. apts. since she doesn't drive. Needless to say i jumped on the opportunity, i come and go as i please and she doesn't hassel me, i get healthy meals with veggies every dinner and rarely even have to wash my own clothes. Don't let any bitch shame you, i piss the fuck outta my friends when i tell them how great i got it, and of course their wives throw their, "are you still staying with mommy" bullshit at me i'm like fuckit and fire back "yeah she won't let me leave cause the dick is good bitch," MAAAAN they get pissed as FUCK lmao, i give no fucks about what anybody thinks fuckem ! Meanwhile im steady stackin cash and considering my vehicles are paid off and all i kick in is some cash for utilities and groceries and at that i have to force her to take the money. Life is good at least for now.

It's not bad at all. Just save your money and work hard. People will criticize you no matter what you do so enjoy life and prepare for your next stage when you move out (buying a house for yourself or paying full market rent). By the time you move out, have zero debt. Have your car paid off. Have a solid career or job at a minimum.

I lived at home until I moved to another city for school, after school I went into the workforce and got my own place. I don't see the sense in going to school and also living alone, maybe with 3 other guys so you can work part time but full time and school? Not if you want to succeed in class
