So, my TL;DR is that my ex left me because she "wasn't happy" about five years ago. In truth, she didn't want to work and wasn't interested in my desire to build wealth and become financially free. My divorce was fortunate (no kids, I got the house), and we split the rest of what little assets we had at the time 50/50 (ish). Between then and now, I worked my ass off to create as much secondary income as I can.

It took a while, but I'm there (mostly through a partner who does private lending). Although I'm not filthy rich, I'm a few thousand over my monthly expenses and I own my own car. Although I could pay down my house, I have a low-interest rate so I'd rather put my cash toward creating more income.

Otherwise, I'm going to focus on what I love doing: Writing, gaming, cooking/healthy eating, and working out.

PS: If it helps, I'm not on monk-mode. I still see women from time to time, but won't get into any legal relationship circumstances with one.

EDIT: Lots of questions in the comments about my income sources. Mix of rental income, promissory notes, and a little military disability. I'll do my best to PM people later who have questions. If you didn't get a PM from me, feel free to reach out and I'll do my best to respond in a decent amount of time.
