a lot of game is talking your way into a vagina.. and good fiction can help expand your vocabulary and the musicality of your speech. it can also inspire you. so imo fiction is good but it rly depends on what you're reading and the influence it's having on you.

Definitely not. Reading fiction is a look into people's lives and perceptions. You will gain a true understanding of the psychology of human existence. Plus, most classic authors are extremely red pilled.

This is the problem I see in the red pill community. Many men on here are on mission for self improvement (which is great). But it gets to a point where they begin questioning every little move they make along the way. I remember even reading a post about a guy arguing that music should be eliminated from a man's journey due to risks of stimulating too many emotions. That's pure insanity to me.

Bro, its important to use your time efficiently to improve, I get it. But if you want to read a damn book to disconnect, it's not going to make you into a poor incel. I've been reading the Dune book series the last couple of months and I'm having a blast. I'm actually surprised with how insanely thought provoking it is. Enjoy your life, man. Who's to say that you won't spend an hour at the gym to improve you sexual options/health then get T-boned by a car on the way home, ending it all?

Everyone needs to have some time to unwind. As long as you're on your path and continuing to make progress on yourself/ your goals, reading in general is a great way to spend down time, and as someone else said, there's still material to be gleaned from fiction. Lessons learned, outside the box concepts explored that otherwise may never be digestible, etc.

Though I'd say I'm a bit biased since I'm working on my own fiction novel franchise, but in my own regard, I studied quite a bit of fiction to hone my own craft (Which benefits my longterm business since I myself am marketing fiction.)

Does that mean you need to write fiction for it to be beneficial? No way. Just budget your time wisely. Always find time to relax, but balance is key.

Reading fiction is a great tool in self improvement imho. Authors like Dostoyevsky, Tolstoy, Goethe, etc will give you an insight into the human condition like no other.

I am now in my late 30’s. I adamantly avoided fiction for 15 years. I thought my reading time was better spent on non-fiction. Actually, I still agree with that in theory, but it wasn’t until a couple of years ago when I picked up my first novel in those 15 years, that I regretted avoiding literature. It was a massive hole in my learning. Only you can decide where your time is best spent in reading, and I’d advise you to choose subjects and topics that you’re interested in, or have a deficiency in. That said, I regret avoiding fiction for so long, and the last couple of years of blazing through some classic and modern literature have been some of the most enjoyable reading moments of my life.

I think reading in itself is a good skill to learn because it develops discipline, patience, self-awareness, focus, things like that. Reading is definitely a way to improve yourself in the attention economy. I personally struggle to read fiction because I get all in my head about how I want to be reading to learn hard facts, but I think I'm holding myself back a little in that regard. There's garbage in any genre, you'd just want to be reading quality books unless you're literally just doing it for entertainment.

I always read two books at a time, one serious book and the other is fiction. For instance I'm currently reading a personal finance book and the last book of Game of Thrones. I switch between the two depending on my mood.

As others have mentioned, reading fiction doesn't mean there aren't lessons to be learned, but more tangibly, reading in general will keep you sharp between the ears. Reading fiction is great practice for reading improvement books. Also, jesus christ allow yourself some time to unwind and enjoy good entertainment. Watching a movie at the end of the week is perfectly fine if you've had a productive week.

You know who's renowned for such things? Bill Shakespeare and he wrote fiction. Anyone that says reading fiction is a waste of time is an idiot. Metaphors and symbols are a great way to influence other people aka charm. If you read nothing but self help and improvement shit you're wasting your time. All work and no play makes you dull as fuck.

Read to increase your knowledge, not for entertainment. Havent read a novel in close to 20 years.
