Maslow idea of the hierarchy of needs is semi right and one of my goals in becoming a therapist will be to challenge Maslow s hierarchy by proving if experiments that the needs and where they land on the pyramid is contextual based on each individuals upbringing as well as the fact that addictions tend to be put at the tip of the chain.

Here are my current points to prove with these experiments/papers.

1: What you lacked growing up tends to be what you need or seek out most until you experience what it is like to have the needs you had growing up disappear from your life.

2: Addiction hijacks the brain causing your brain to put even the most needed of needs (food and shelter) after addiction (depending on what you are addicted to)

3: The hierarchy is always evolving and thus always contextual based on your life. A multi millionaire don’t need to worry about money, food, or shelter. While a poor person who comes up to above poverty still worries but worried less and may be more motivated to make money.
