This is half post college-grad/ex-feminist post.
I entered college expecting something exciting to happen in my life. I bought into feminist ideology which ruined my relationships with guys. I lost my virginity because I thought I had to since everyone was doing it. I still only slept with 5 people, but even that number often makes me feel like a whore.
I don't know why.
I was surrounded by this ideology "I don't need a man" but inside I wanted one. It was weird constantly saying one thing but desperately wanting another. I want to be cute and prioritize my boyfriend. I never had that because as a strong woman I wasn't supposed to need a man.
I spent years doing what I didn't want.
After graduating, now I completely lost my sense of direction in terms of career and passion in life. All I know for certain is that I want a relationship. Is it wrong I want to lose myself in that relationship?
Here is where my problem starts, I don't know how to tell guys that I want a relationship. I am not used to saying "serious relationship only". I spent years with the mantra "lets try casual and see where it goes" but that's just wasting time.
I mean I give off that vibe with my entire being and I don't know how to get rid of this persona I've acquired.
I hope this makes sense. I really don't know what I am doing with my life right now. I want to connect with someone, why is that so difficult nowadays?
EDIT: I don't want "kids+marriage" right now. Its just what I want in the long run. In 10 years thats where I expect myself to be. Just don't know how to get there.
