I saw this and immediately knew the article it was from! I read it like 7 years ago and still think about it from time to time. It is so heartbreaking, what those women in Afghanistan are forced to endure, how few rights they have. Like, automatically assuming just because you're writing romantic poetry, you have a boyfriend and can be killed for that, to have your poetry destroyed, and then committing suicide because that one artistic outlet was the only light in your suffocating life where you only exist to be married off.....unfathomable. Absolutely barbaric and unfathomable.

I live in the US which doesn't treat women perfect by any means, but that article seriously puts life into perspective. Just the fact that my life is entirely my own to live as I see fit wasn't possible for women here as recently as last century, and for many women worldwide who are alive today. It's important to also remember I didn't get to live this life w/o many women before me making sure I have these rights and privileges

Of course a man shut her up. These men all bank on having a young woman given to them by their families one day. The idea that a woman has a right to enjoy sex with her husband, and that it they could be lacking in any way, is not allowed in their view.

Women calling out age gap relationships triggers scrotes no end. Of the content I've posted to FDS, it's the age gap stuff that draws the most butthurt DMs.

They can die mad. And alone.
