Let me begin by saying I LOVE this sub!

I've had many years dating experience to reference the advice of FDS and it legit holds up!

Thanks to FDS I spared myself hours of unbillable therapy from all the LVM exes that came crawling back into my life at the start of the pandemic. One literally went into his messy childhood stuff within minutes (and we haven't spoken for 10 years!!). Blocked. Deleted.

I'm not dating during the pandemic but just existing outside of my house I came across a few guys who wanted to stay in touch. While they technically didn't do anything oVeRtLy OfFeNsIvE, I don't keep giving chances to mediocrity. 'FDS me' values my time and gives it to people who enhance my life. The people who enhance my life make it pretty evident pretty fast. They don't need my patience and hand holding to reveal their vibrant glowing amazingness.

While so much dating advice is about pandering to men, playing the supporting role in your own life for a guy; I love that FDS demands that we examine what and who actually adds to our lives. It centers the woman in her own universe which is utterly radical in a patriarchy that conditions us otherwise.

I know there's a Female Level Up sub too but I feel like FDS has evolved into the flavor of feminism that I needed. FDS tackles the ugly harsh realities and inequalities women face, FDS seeks to help ALL women at every social/economic rung (not just the most privileged ones).

It's changed how I view the integrity of everyone in my life: family, friends, professionals. It's so much more than dating.

What's sexier than lingerie and new sexual positions that make him gasp?

Economic Independence. Freedom from Abuse. Realizing and Exercising your Autonomy as a Human Being in whatever direction that may take you. Lifting Up Other Women.
