Best thing from my own experience is to isolate yourself from that event. Just think if it like a giant oil fire the size of a house, you could in theory put it out but it would take far too much effort and resources with a very high chance of hurting yourself so its better to just let it burn out and clean up after when its much more manageable. Leaving it too works as well though.

Hey man, I know what you're feeling. How are your boundary setting skills? It's definitely something to take into account if you feel like you are losing your self control over certain social situations, be it with a relationship, or even family and friends and coworkers.

If you feel like you are saying or doing something that doesn't make you feel happy about doing it, that might be a boundary being crossed. It takes time and practice to say no to things for yourself. I'm still learning how to do that.

Pick up the book Boundaries by Henry Cloud and John Townsend. It can be a bit religious if you're into that, but it still offers valuable insight on how to better your relationships with people and yourself.

"If you can't say "no" to things out of love for yourself, then you certainly won't say "yes" to things out of love for others." I won't ever forget that quote.

First and foremost, be less neurotic. All that negativity is bad for you, stress is only useful if you're getting something out of it.

Secondly, think long and hard about your principles and values. It's impossible to assert yourself if you don't know who you are. Once you choose them, stick to them, unless you're proven wrong beyond a reasonable doubt.

Last but not least, become independent. Learn how to defend yourself, that's self explanatory. Also you need to integrate yourself into the economy on your own terms. Both of these things will require you to be more disciplined in general and the work is never really done, but it's always worth it.

My advice would be to know what you want to do with your life. And once u'll have figured that out, u'll sense a gigantic relief. now you know where to go. and then say yes or no to people depending of if what they re asking align with your life goals.

life goals are numerous, its not jsut about a career and making cash. i have decided in my early 20's to become an honest person and have worked on not lying ever since. I have greatly improved. people consider me brutal now. well, i don't care. i tell the truth. i don't have to bother remembering lies and things i heared and what version of events i told. it all became much simpler. people also trust me. I don't repeat things on top of that. so i give genuine advices and hold secret. its usually other males who say im too brutal for the record.

Or I have decided to find a better job and work for a company that respects my value. I'm about to sign the contract I have looked for over a year now. Had to pick a small job in between, but I sitll kept looking. dont settle for what you think you don't desreve, keep pusing.

Make your conversations reflect your life goals as a person, and not the other way around. You are, probably, a too aggreeable person. If someone, like a friend, wants to do something and you think its wrong or boring, learn how to say no.

Also, mind and body are the 2 sides of the same coin. No, you shouldn't be looking at bodybuilders as a paragon of fitness, but have resistance training 2 or 3 a week or find a sport you like and try to get good at it. Your body needs exercise for hormone regulation and stress management. It will also make you a healthier person overall, and someone who feels light on his feet, alert and more relaxed will be more grounded. it will become easier to say no and progress towards what you want.

It is a good way to get modern insights into the decision making and thought processes of a stoic, namely Marcus Aurelius.

First, who cares about being assertive or direct. that is shit you need to fuck women and believe me once you pass age 30, pussy becomes much less important.

i'd say focus on accomplishing something that is truly you. work out, hit the gym, take up a new hobby, learn a new language. once you develop more skills you'll love yourself more.

second...realize your self worth always comes from inside. men are conditioned to seek validation externally from women but women are incapable of loving men how we desire, so its a vicious cycle of abuse and insecurity for most modern men. just realize even if you were a Chad, rich, successful and super intelligent, you'd still have to learn to love yourself cause even if those positive attributes got you a girl, it'd be empty because women have evolved to be incapable of loving men, only children.

I'm a fast learner and it took me about 6 months of studying MGTOW to really deprogram myself. I was also always a bit MGTOW as well I just didn't know it as a more formalized thing.
