Men are the real gold diggers. I've never met a man before my HVM husband who didn't ask what I did for a living and how much I make. I've been financially abused and straight up stolen from by nvx's. I've been screwed over by an NVX to the tune of $60k in total upon divorce despite him making more rhan I did (and that was just divorce, not including 7 years worth of wages from work). That one made sure I left the marriage with negative money; he pulled out credit cards and phones in my name and racked them up. That's only one of them. Men have cost me a huge fortune over my lifetime, and I'm not doing it anymore.

And ladies don't forget: if he wants to use me for sex, domestic labor, carrying children and a wall to talk to when he is lonely, he still DOES WANT help, he doesn't want me "for me". He doesn't want to mooch off my money but off my labour and care, that drains life out of me, but increases his (there's a study that found single women live longer than married ones). If he isn't self-sufficient, he will use you.

OK, thanks for posting this. Long before FDS when I was trying online dating I kept running into this issue with shitty men. I'm an artist AND I own my own business. BOTH pay the bills but when asked 'what do you do' I generally say 'I'm an artist'. Because I am.

The last time I went on a date that stupid question came and I replied truthfully - that I have a part time job and I'm an artist.

He got this sneer on his face and said, 'well, at least you have a job'. My art brings in more money than my side job. I didn't tell him that. Also, why the fuck does it matter how much money I'm making?

That guy was the worst, what a horrible 'date' it was. Coffee date with a sprinkling of negging and 'I hate the #metoo movement'. What as asshole.
