I’m reading The Surrendered Single for the first time, and early on there was a line about waiting for him to email you and not following up if you’ve already sent something.

I realize this was written in a slightly different time, but I wonder if that still holds true these days?

Like if a guy opens the convo but doesn’t respond after you send a message later, should you leave the ball in his court? After all, a man who wants to talk to you will make it known, and men like to pursue.

Or is that outdated, and sometimes convos just drop, and men like when women open the convo back up later with something else? Where’s the line between acceptable conversation and coming across as overly into him, or god forbid, desperate?

This is all within the context of early dating stages - from first message/contact to first couple of dates. Obviously within an actual dating scenario, communication should be free on both sides.

Thoughts?
