Even for selfish reasons?
I am imagining being a man trying to pair with a woman, to live with her for the rest of his life, to have kids with her, and die with her at his side.

But somehow men still refuse to see us as equals? Let's not even go that far to say they have to see all women as equals... They refuse to see the person who they'll spend the rest of their lives with as an equal, just because she is a woman.

Does this not fill them with existential dread at any point? Do they ever have an "aha" moment where they realize they are setting themselves up for failure and a life of unhappiness? I can't imagine the levels of loneliness and despair I would feel if I had to devote my life to someone I didn't see as my best friend. If I had a braindead husband who just supplied genetic material and money, how could I really "love" him and be happy?

Are men fundamentally unhappy by choice, or do the majority not even posses the ability to reach this level of thought?
