Some of my buddies once they get in a stable LTR it’s like the fire in them turns off. They stop lifting and exercise and let themselves go. They stop hustling and working on their purpose. They spend most of their free time with their significant other. If their LTR leaves them they are now starting from a much harder place because they stoped improving themselves physically, financially and mentally during the relationship.

Whenever I was in a LTR I continued to stay driven on my purpose. Gym, work, studying/side hustle and generally working to improve myself as a man. I admit this was sometimes at the expense of the “relationship” because I barley had anytime for my significant other or really anything else. I would get stuff like from my girlfriend like “Why are you at the gym so much are you trying to attract other women?” Or “your always so busy we never have time to ourselves.” I always felt exclusive girlfriends were extra weight taking up time no matter how attractive I found them.

Now I still continue to spin plates and date when I can. I also still have a strong desire hook up with women. But at 27 I have generally zero interest in being in a LTR anytime soon. I still have many milestones in my life I wish to reach. I also love the freedom of being accountable to no one but myself and free to do what ever I want on whims notice. Many of my friends can’t even go out without checking with their girlfriends.

Has anyone else realized that being single, spinning plates and staying on your grind. Is much better than being tied down by a serious relationship? Listen if I meet the right woman one day maybe I’ll consider it. But I still won’t sacrifice my own self improvement for anyone.
