Ok so I’m single as can be but this whole “50/50” situation that is so popular has been on my mind and it got me thinking. What is FDS stance on finances once you get married?
A lot of financial coaches I watch (like Dave Ramsey) say once married you should combine accounts. I’ve also read about couples doing a mixture (joint account, as well as separate accounts)
We expect men to provide and pay on dates so does the same go for marriage? i.e. he pays all the bills?
In my mind if I want to avoid the 5050 split it would make sense for the man to pay all the bills and whatever the wife makes is hers to do whatever with, whether that be decorating the house, spending money, etc.
What are your thoughts? Is it different for every couple?
