Getting a degree in chemical engineering but never found a job as an engineer with it. It was not worth the stress or debt. Only saving Grace for me was I only had $10k in loans when I graduated.

I didn't do a thorough analysis of the job market before choosing my degree path. I should have said "fuck everybody else" and gone with Early Childhood Education from the start.

My regrets are not investigating things more seriously and understanding the reality, partially because I was too busy and focused on getting women. I met a few guys wanting to get into IT and maybe start an internet business with some other friends around 1997. We were on the east coast and after a short investigation we concluded that the big players were already doing everything and everything was already done. Went back to chasing women. Lol. I had some bankroll, but, man, chasing women was like some sort of drug even though I was doing it much less and was much cheaper with them than my friends.

Quit my good paying office job 15 years ago to purchase a delivery territory business.

The business has turned out as promised and I like the work specifically (I prefer physical work, and am an introvert, so being in the truck alone a lot suits me), but now that the wife is gone, working 2a-11a as a single guy is a huge social obstacle to building or maintaining friendships.

I feel like I've gotten too 'dumb' and set in my ways in this gig, and would never even make through the interview process as an entry level person in my old industry (commercial insurance). And I left that industry because the stress was overwhelming me then - I think I'm even more susceptible to that now.

I feel like I have painted myself into a corner at 52 and it's actually quite a large source of depression and anxiety.

Technically I would want to erase all the years I spent being "happy" just gaming my days away (at least a decade's worth).

That being said, if I didn't go down that path, I wouldn't be where I am today, comfortable and still climbing. No shortage of growth vehicle options.

wish i didnt fuck around with credit cards in my early 20s, i got a really good gig about a year out of high school paying pretty good coin for a single guy..50-55k range... I never went to university and fell in what i believe is a great scam of our time but i did go in to too much debt buying things I dont need. I could think of more but im in a rush kind of atm but thats one thing I believe a MGHOW should always have and thats his finances together somewhat and lean more towards a minimalist lifestyle. my plan is to save my money get a nice 30-50k savings, what I like to call a safety net..money I never touch. So I can quit and find work elswewhere if and when ( its already their tbh) my company gets too progressive and cucked.. So i never be tied down. I dont have a mortgage, I pay rent and I dont drive.. I have grocery stores and all that I need nearby. Definetly would of been smarter with my finances from 18 on... I do remember buying nicer more expensive clothes to impress thots.. what a fuckin waste. Im smarter now though.

I wish I'd made myself more focused, behaved less entitled, appreciated the challenge of difficulty, and gone active duty instead of reserves in the military. Life is great now, but I could have experienced many more positive experiences in my youth as well.

By choosing to stay local for college at parent's request (despite having GPA and SAT/ACT scores good enough to get into top state schools) I really screwed myself in terms of social, academic, and networking opportunities. Parents also left me in the dark half-way through, so that was great.

Quitting university. I was studying Electronic Engineering but I didn't like it so I quitted and started working as a welder, which is something that I still do.

Everyone looks down on me regardless of how much I know about something. I know everybody is flashed by the titles, but damn I didn't know it was like this.

Not finishing college right out of high school has cost me more than my first (and only) marriage. It has cost me hundreds of thousands of dollars in potential earnings, I estimate, by not finishing my computer science degree in 1993.

In the same vein, after I worked for a couple morons, I realized that it was not intelligence that made success, it was ambition. I think if young men maximize their opportunities by getting the correct piece of paper from college, and avoiding entanglements in order to pursue their ambition (or develop their ambition as necessary), this will ultimately lead them to greater contentment, health, and personal satisfaction later in life.

Money may not be everything, but dear God in heaven it gives us choices.

This is I guess the whole essence of MGTOW and why I went my own way.

But I have took time in my life to write down things, I thought I needed at the time. (this was 5 years ago) and I keep reading on about myself and what I then stated.

Most of my journal consisted of me polarizing, around females and goals that I had.

I like the spirit I had back then more, then I recently uphold.

But I was eerily annoyed, by how most of my interactions with myself, was made in relation to what I perceived as successes I had with the opposite sex. Looking back, I see myself page by page, getting exhausted by this notion and chase, that have been more determined by anothers opinion then by any of my own reason, This is probably the reason I went MGTOW in the first place.

But the real essence behind it, lies more in the fact that I was searching to be a self-determined individual, but could not do so without the necessary work.

tl;dr: don't make your life about women.

my first regret was to not lie to the police when I was 3 or 4yo.

the issue arose from me finding a baseball and mitts in a closet and I asked my foster (shitty) father to play ball.

I guess that pissed him off b/c he took me outside, and beamed me in the head with a fastball. Blacked out cold, and woke up to the neighbors standing over me and it was my first concussion.

Later, my fucking shitty foster family mother/bitch coached me into saying it was an accident and they were great people, and if I were to say otherwise I would be sent to really bad people and to not say anything bad or else hell and brimstone, scaring a little kid for their own interests.

well, the police show up with some other old lady, only she has to hear it from me that I'm ok (with a fucking egg on my forehead), and I say I am. She isn't too happy and makes the foster parents give me a bedroom and make it nice, and she will be back to check on us.

So, for a few months shit is actually pretty good. The old asshole/man paints a room and I feel better. The lady comes back and provides a few more requests and leaves.

After that, it was neglect, resent and disdain every fucking day.
I never did anything wrong but was punished every fucking week for nothing. Did tons of work, chores, and my rewards were threats or slaps or the belt for saying things like the canned food is shitty.

Oh yeah, the best she could cook was literally heating up canned fucking food. Not a single thing could be cooked like my friends parents would do, no, we ate worse than homeless people.

so, I would love to return to that time and say to the cops "they want to kill me" and with that huge knot in my forehead and being treated the way I was for just fucking asking to play fucking ball, they would've gone to jail or prison and I would've been back to a much safer state run facility.

I struggled with life, they made me work outside jobs since I was 12, and contribute to the shitty house, when I turned 16 they charged me rent and refused to sign anything to let me get a drivers license, even though I did everything myself.

My friends families and fathers raised me more than those fucking foster fucks did, and I will shit on their graves. Every time I think about them I think of how difficult they made my life on purpose. They deserve to be quartered a hundred times over.

after that, I made a few mistakes with bad friends, being stupid and reckless but otherwise I feel I made life as good as I can get it. Dealing with multiple head injuries and I have a short temper sometimes. Especially when I see someone bullying a little guy like I was.

I'm actually amazed I lived through it. At school, bullies tried to fuck with me, but after what I went through at home 3 kids hitting me made me laugh and they bugged me again. Also, I only one time in my life hit someone after I knocked them down, and that was in 5th grade. After I whooped him, I vowed to never hit anyone if they were down or refused to hit me 1st.
