The courts don't care whether you can make it or not... it's just numbers to them they took my almost 4k a month , and left me , 600 a month...

Subtract the non marital portion out and what it would have earned during the length of time of the marriage. Subtract this from the total amount and the remainder is what you would split. You would need to verify that with your lawyer but that's what I did.

If she won’t agree to less, you can fight. But it will likely be expensive and there are no guarantees. Talk to an attorney.

Don't know the answer but I remember at my first hearing, my attorney was also representing a lady who's ex husband wanted part of her pension. They were married years ago and now that she is retired, he wanted part of her pension. I remember she was crying because she said she couldn't live on what was left after he took his share (pretty sure it wasn't half but I don't know). Didn't matter though. He got his share.

She'll get half. You don't get to reduce it unless she somehow agrees to it.
