How have you set up your space?

Don't set your space up based on what you think a woman might like, you're the one that has to live there, and she probably doesn't care as long as it's not a mess.

My preference is to keep my space as minimal as possible. Cheaper, looks better, easier to clean, easier to stay focused, etc.

Get a big TV, a large couch (I prefer the ones with the chaise lounge at the end) and put a bar in there.

Get a patio furniture set for the balcony.

Done.

Us guys are good at the basics but I'd ask a female relative to actually help decorate. Just give them the cash and have em go at it.

And no women don't care. I mean they do but not when you bring them home while you are making out in the doorway.

For the love of God get a housecleaner. Number one recommendation. Even once a month is fine. Just for the deep cleaning crap. Should be like 50 bucks.

I can keep the place not messy but I'm sure as hell not actually cleaning the bathroom and stuff.

When you live alone, you can very easily fall into a mode where you don't care if it's messy.

No posters. Everything that goes on your walls should be framed.

Also, get yourself a set of tools. You don't have to go all out, just a basic set. You can buy an entire kit that should have everything you need. Also get a cordless drill. You'll use these more than you think and you certainly never regret it.

One thing I've found to be important is to not have solo seating options anywhere. Shy girls will always go for the chair rather than your bed (studio) or a couch, and it makes escalating that much harder. I do have a desk chair that sometimes cock blocks me but I put a box or something heavy on it so they don't sit there.

Just worry about the basics

Couch/Sofa, Desk, TV Stand, Dining Table + Chairs, Bed, Shelves. Make sure it all matches and goes together. Make sure it looks decent. Craigslist and 2nd hand items are fine but just make sure they are in good shape

I wouldn't worry too much about art and books and such unless you have the funds.

Furnishing a living space isn't cheap.

I would recommend a cheap row machine. $200 on amazon. Great cardio on shitty days. As far as appearances, as jttjt said, create your space for you, not for women. But giving off the impression that you're into fitness and take care of yourself doesn't hurt.

My man cave is fairly minimal.

I have my weights, pull up bar and my bench, a desk, a laptop and a couple of chairs. I try to have as few books, DVD's, etc as possible as its ultimately just clutter. I have quite a few cool pieces of art, including an original piece that is mentioned in a relatively well known book that was given to me - people always ask about it and it makes for a cool story. I have a few posters from a nightclub that I used to be involved in as well.

I would definitely recommend getting decent lights that create a certain atmosphere, depending on what you want.

Make your bed daily and keep the place as tidy and organised as possible. I shouldn't have to say this but 90% of people I know live in a state of mess and chaos. When things are tidy and organised you feel a hell of a lot better.
