Short backstory: I recently (the past couple years or so) woke up to the fact that men are human beings with fears and feelings too. I know, I’m sorry. I was just spewing everything that the egregiously biased leftist media was shoving down my throat. However I’ve been trying to put myself in the shoes of a man in today’s society. I love hearing ALL opinions from people of ALL walks of life so I started watching things like Joe Rogan and Aba & Preach just to look at humans diplomatically. I realized I’m a very diplomatic, pragmatic, peace keeping person who likes to bridge divides. We’re all coexisting together and men are just as valuable as women. I’m also a person who believes in traditional gender roles (PERSONALLY. however I don’t have any issues with people who don’t. It’s different for everyone) So I like men who are traditionally masculine. I say all of that to say this:

In today’s society are some men scared to approach women? I’ve gotten the vibe from many men in the past that they were into me but maybe scared of expressing interest cause they thought I would lash out at them because of it or something. I’m not saying I wanna be cat-called, that’s annoying and gross. HOWEVER, I do think men (who are interested in me specifically) should make the first move because I consider myself a traditionally feminine woman. I would rather be courted/approached/chased than do that to the man myself. Albeit I am a bit forward online and make the first move by maybe commenting something cheeky on somebody’s Instagram or something but that’s because I’m behind a screen. I’m quite shy and reserved in real life. I don’t like using dating apps AT ALL and would rather meet somebody the old fashioned way like at the beach or a bookstore. If I see/talk to somebody and I think there might be a potential interest there am I now expected to make the first move? I do all the hints obviously. I’m a little flirty when I’m really drawn to somebody, but I still don’t know if I’m entirely comfortable with being the pursuer. It must be scary for men nowadays cause they don’t wanna be branded a creep or a predator or something like that since that’s happening a lot lately. (some of which is absolutely valid. I’m not taking anything from genuine victims of this, however there’s also also a collective of people who lie or exaggerate things to make somebody sound terrible for the sake of cancel culture) So in 2021 am I now expected to be the one who chases the man? The other issue I have with that is that because once again I’m a traditionally feminine woman, I want a traditionally masculine man. I’m not in the mind of a man so I’m not entirely sure what they would do if they liked a girl, however TO MY CURRENT KNOWLEDGE it seems like they would want to be the one who pursues me right? Dating is hard enough as is, especially when trying to find a man who isn’t some super soft, liberal, feminist snowflake. So what should traditionally feminine women do? Do we just sit around and wait? Or do we take initiative? Should I be back on the apps even though I have many reservations about using them in the first place?
