I haven't watched TV in a while. But recently I've been trying to learn Spanish by watching shows with Spanish subtitles or voice-overs, or, Spanish shows with English subtitles. But it seems every show I try quickly devolves into women assaulting men (there's always an incident before this happens showing the man clearly "deserved" it). Other common themes seem to be men being outsmarted by women and then mocked for being stupid and also desperate men being unceremoniously rejected by women who seem to take an inordinate amount of glee in doing so. Again, there's always a build-up justifying why the man "deserved" to be rejected.
