If you are complaining about "manspreading" then you don't understand basic biological differences between men and women.

And no, I'm not (just) talking about packages getting squished between thighs.

The male pelvis is not shaped like the female pelvis. It is wider, particularly the pubic arch between the hip joints.

What this means is that a male who is "manspreading" is not necessarily taking up any more space between his knees than a female of the same height sitting with her legs straight. His legs are just a different angle because of the way our hips connect. Imagine a pair of chopsticks with one end either spread apart or pinned close together.

My wife was surprised to learn earlier this year that I am literally incapable of sitting cross-legged, unless one leg is way higher than the other. My exterior thigh muscles are just not flexible enough to stretch that far.

I still don't get this entire controversy. Either men are uncomfortable when confined to just the width of their seat, or women are uncomfortable by being touched and squished into less than the width of their seat. Why not just make the fucking seats wider and everybody is happy?
